Kayaking in a Green Texas Paradise

Saturday we joined some Austin friends in kayaking on the San Marcos river in central Texas. We had not been on this river in 20 or so years, and it is still one of the greenest and most beautiful that we have seen anywhere in the world.

The huge Ameican Bald Cypress trees seem as big as redwoods, and the other exotic plant life along the river really are beautiful.

We saw lots of turtles sunning on logs and rocks, raptors and herons.
Beautiful mild weather, great day all around!
